MARCH KIT: Flower Drum Song

As much as we don't want to start off our months kit intro with some "late" news, here are updates to our SA Stamps . . . according to our suppliers the stamps should be arriving in Manila by the end of the month .

We know we owe you all your February stamps, and now even your March stamps too :-( but rest assured that as soon as the shipment arrives we will get them out to you asap!!! Unfortunately with these circumstances it is out of our control, we sincerely apologize for the inconvenience.

But
we don't like leaving things hanging,
so on to
SOME GOOD NEWS
FOR OUR MEMBERS!!!

Beginning this March Kit 2008, we will be ADDING . . . yes, your read it right . . . ADDING TWO pieces of Cardstock each month!!!

And to give everyone a variety, other than our regular (main) kits we will be having kits that may be paper heavy on certain months or embellishment heavy on the other. It's another way to stretch your creativity with Studio Azul Kits!!!

But wait, THIS month is going to be EXTRA yummy! We packed our Flower Drum Song kit with not two, but FOUR Bazzils Cardstock!!! Apparently, this month is way paper heavy! Oh, and here's another surprise, we also added a PRIMA PAINTABLES to your kit!!! How good is that!!! Enough of the chit-chat . . . read on!!!!

A little something about CV:

I've been married to my husband, Gerard, for 9 years now and we have 2 wonderful children: Nikki (8) and Ian (5). I am a Dietitian by profession but I opted for a career in the hotel industry. I was in the hotel food and beverage department for about 12 years but am now teaching Restaurant Operations to college students who are in the Hotel and Restaurant program.

I am not quite sure that I have a style to call my own - I love trying out all sorts of styles, although I am more drawn to clean and simple, graphic-style pages. I am still trying to learn how to stamp better and to make beautiful cards. I also love taking photographs but I would really love to learn how to take better photos someday soon!

Before anything, we would like to apologize for the delay in posting our sneak peak, we have a bit of delay with our stamps. So we've decided to post the whole kit with an illustration of the stamped image for the meantime. Please be informed that our Feb Kit will be slightly delayed this month, as we are waiting for the arrival of the stamps. SA's first SKETCH!

Care of our co-blue lady, AU, we decided to make January a bit different. Since sketches or maps are so popular nowadays why fight nature we say, so here's our FIRST SA SKETCH!

And to make things more exciting, we have a challenge for both MEMBERS and NON-MEMBERS alike. The most innovative and creative sketch is the winner, so turn it upside down, use the elements the way you want it to as long as the essence of the sketch is there. We will be choosing TWO (2) WINNERS, 1 (One) winner using the SA January Kit and 1 (One) winner using any scrapbook supply your heart desires.

Rules:

1. Use AU's sketch the way YOU see it. Turn it around, upside down, just make it your own without losing the flavor of the sketch. You DON'T have to copy the embellies exactly the way you see it on the sketch, just use your imagination (and supplies!) and fly! Sizes are either 12x12 or 8 1/2 x 11 ONLY
   
2. Please email your entries with the PROPER Subject Heading, email all entries to studio_azul@yahoo.com.
   
3. For layouts using the SA JANUARY Kit, email with subject heading: SUPERNOVA SKETCH CHALLENGE --- NOTE: use materials/supplies included in the January Supernova kit ONLY with the exception of ink, paint, embossing powder (if you're stamping, using ONLY the stamp that came with the kit) and pens and other coloring agents (crayons, watercolor, etc.)
   
4. For layouts using OTHER scrapbook supplies, emaiil with subject heading: JANUARY SKETCH CHALLENGE
5. So everyone has a chance, you can join only ONE of either categories.
   
6. Deadline: February 18, 2008, 11:59 PM local time
